Opening Ceremony STIC-CEGIR
The opening of the new STIC office at two universities, WMSCU and ITS, was conducted online via Zoom. Following the opening ceremony, an Indonesian seminar on circular economy policies was held.
The Virtual Grand Opening Ceremony and Seminar of STIC were collaborative events involving the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya, and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). The purpose of this event was to introduce the establishment of the office/center as a platform for research collaboration and international cooperation on breakthrough technologies for specific issues. The focus of the event was on Circular Economy Policies and Implementation: Challenges and Opportunities.
The event commenced with the playing of the national anthems of Indonesia and the Republic of China (Taiwan) and was followed by speeches from Prof. Jia-Yush Yen, President of NTUST; Kuncoro Foe, Ph.D., Rector of UKWMS; Prof. Mochamad Ashari, Rector of ITS; Dr. Mego Pinandito, Secretary-General of the National Research and Innovation Agency; John C. Chen, Ambassador of TETO Jakarta, Indonesia. The virtual grand opening event concluded with a video profiling STIC-CEGIR.
The seminar featured several speakers, including Dr. Andriati Cahyaningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Head of Industrial Services Policy and Standardization Division, who discussed the policy implementation of circular economy in the industrial sector. Liang-Jenq Leu, President of the Taiwan Construction Research Institute, spoke about circular economy-based collaboration in the construction industry. Heri Purwanto, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager at PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, shared experiences and challenges in waste management at PT. Wilmar Nabati Indonesia.
